A range of new Easy Read booklets about the NDIS

The NDIA recently published an updated range of Easy Read booklets to help NDIS participants understand the process of applying for the NDIS; getting and using an NDIS plan; and talking about their work goals. The booklets also explain how some parts of the NDIS and their processes have changed because of coronavirus.
The booklets give a great overview of the NDIS process and explain all the key terms that NDIS participants need to know to navigate the scheme.
Participant booklets
There are three participant booklets that are designed to support people through their NDIS journey. The practical booklets can help people learn more about the NDIS, prepare for a planning meeting and to implement their plan.
The booklets include space for people to write down key information, questions and to collect their thoughts before a meeting.

- deciding whether to apply for the NDIS
- using the NDIS.
Booklet 2 – Planning, covers:

Let’s talk about work booklet
The Let's talk about work booklet helps people get ready to talk about work goals with an NDIS planner.
There is space in the booklet to write down information about your work capacity, strengths, barriers and challenges. You can also write down your previous experience and list some of your skills. You can find the Easy Read booklets on the NDIS website.
