Easy Read website for Disability Safe Week
In 2017, we were thrilled to work with People With disabilities Western Australia (PWdWA) to develop an Easy Read website for Disability Safe Week. This campaign is an initiative by PWdWA. It educates people with disability, and the wider community, about ways to recognise and stop the abuse that people with disability experience.
The Easy Read website offers a comprehensive suite of resources on how to identify abuse and get help, all delivered in a way that suits the needs of people with intellectual disability who, as a group, are highly vulnerable to abuse. The content uses images to support the simple text.
The Disability Safe Week website was a finalist in the 2019 Clear Communication Awards – Easy English category.
