National Office for Child Safety documents

The Attorney-General’s Department (AGD) published information about how to keep children safe from child sexual abuse. We worked to convert a suite of 9 documents into Easy Read.

The suite included topics like how children and young people can stay safe, how to have conversations with children and young people and how to share your story with the media.

A big focus for our team was to be as clear as possible about the topic of child sexual abuse. We were careful to use trauma-sensitive images and language throughout. Our studio team also aligned the documents in the suite with 5 different branding styles, based on our client’s request.

We undertook 3 different types of testing. We ran 5 focus groups, including a focus group with children. We also organised testing with our in-house document testers and screen reader testers. We worked hard to collate and analyse all the feedback to make the best and most comprehensible product we could, based on what the community shared.

You can find the Easy Read versions of these documents on the National Office for Child Safety website.
