NDIS Supported Decision Making Policy

We provided accessibility work on the ‘NDIS Supported Decision Making Policy’ on behalf of the National Disability Insurance Agency. The purpose of the policy is to make sure the NDIS can provide best practice support for people with disability to make their own decisions about how they live their lives. This policy draws on the ‘United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities’, which describes the rights of people with disability to dignity, autonomy, decision making and recognition of legal capacity.

We provided services to ensure the policy document was compatible with assistive technology. This included structuring the reading order of the text and headings and providing alternative text to allow access to information within images. We also made sure the policy met the WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards, including font size and colour contrast.

You can view the NDIS Supported Decision Making Policy on the NDIS website.
