National Disability Research Partnership Board - Chair EOI form
We were thrilled to work with the Australian Government Department of Social Services (DSS) to create an accessible Easy Read version of an Expression of Interest form.
This document included everything a person might need to find out how to apply for the position of Chair of the National Disability Research Partnership (NDRP) Board. The NDRP is an organisation that will fund research led by and with people with disability.
The majority of Directors on the NDRP Board will be people with disability. The Chair of the NDRP Board will also be a person with disability.
Our Easy Read document included:
- a description of the NDRP
- an explanation of what the Chair of the NDRP would do
- the skills and qualifications an applicant should have
- how DSS will assess the list of applicants
- how to apply for the job.
We also organised an external supplier to do an Auslan translation of the form and worked with them to adapt the text to make sure it was appropriate for people who are deaf or hard of hearing.
It has been a fulfilling process to work on a document that will support people to apply for such an important position. The job application process can often be inaccessible, and this has been a fantastic opportunity to utilise our skills and experience to eliminate some barriers that many people face.
The period to apply for the position closed on 13 May 2024. You can view the Easy Read expression of interest information on the DSS engage website.
