Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care - My Aged Care resources

It’s vital that older people and their families and carers can find clear information about how to access aged care services. This is why we were thrilled to work with the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care (DoHAC) on a suite of key resources for My Aged Care. My Aged Care supports older people to find and use the aged care services they need.

We created Easy Read versions of 8 documents about how to take part in different aged care programs and services. This included Easy Read versions of:

  • a brochure about the services My Aged Care offers
  • the Charter of Aged Care Rights – rules about how people must treat you in aged care
  • a guide about what to do after you’ve applied for My Aged Care and you’re waiting for an assessment.

Given the size of this project, we took care to consider consistency across the suite from the very beginning. Our studio team created design concepts for DoHAC before starting on image development for individual documents. They matched the branding, colours and style of the original documents, including their cover pages. Our editorial team also did multiple checks throughout the process to make sure information and wording were consistent across all 8 Easy Read documents.

Making this information accessible and easy to understand was rewarding. We know trying to find and use aged care services can be complicated, so we were glad to contribute our services.

You can find the Easy Read versions of these resources on the DoHAC website.
