About us
The Information Access Group was established in January 2009. We assist organisations meet the diverse literacy needs of the community. We specialise in creating documents and websites that are easy to read and easy to use. Our team includes writers, editors, graphic designers, web developers, researchers and trainers who bring together a wealth of experience in clear communications. Our clients include government departments and agencies, not-for-profit organisations and businesses that are using accessible communications to connect with their audience.
Lyndall Thomas – Director

Lyndall specialises in assisting organisations to meet the diverse literacy needs of their community.
As the Editorial Director of the Information Access Group, Lyndall has worked with a number of organisations on the development of accessible materials, including the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA), Southern Health and Vision 2020 Australia.
She has extensive editorial and project management experience in communication settings. She has worked for a number of large organisations, such as HarperCollins Publishers and Dental Health Services Victoria.
Lyndall manages a team of consultants, including graphic designers and Easy English and Plain English converters.

Sue Driscoll – Communications Director

Sue Driscoll provides communications and marketing advice to a range of government, health, community and not-for-profit organisations.
Sue has designed and implemented many communication and engagement strategies both as part of a larger issue management approach or as a component of a social marketing program. As a strategic communicator, she has regularly facilitated planning sessions for government and health organisations on management, operations and communications.She developed branding strategies with a range of clients and has overseen their implementation.
Sue has experience in producing a broad range of printed and online publications, including brochures, newsletters and annual reports. She has also taught strategic communication planning and community relations to Masters' students and a range of skills workshops for health industry practitioners, including producing better brochures and newsletters.
Julie Pearce – Communications Advisor, Writer and Editor

Julie Pearce specialises in translating complex information into plain language to connect with target audiences. She has extensive online and print editorial experience across a broad range of strategic communication skills. Speech writing, interviewing and developing scripts for audio visual presentations are additional talents she is well practised in.
Julie has extensive experience in editing – including developing or improving content (structural, substantive and copy editing); proofreading; preparation of documents within defined style guidelines; development of web content; online newsletters; development and delivery of surveys and adaptation of content to various formats - including speakers notes for presentations, website copy, scripts and media releases.
Jo King – Senior Graphic Designer

Jo King is a talented graphic and web designer with over ten years agency experience. During her career, she has had the opportunity to produce a range of conventional and Easy English material in both print and web formats. She has also worked alongside individuals with intellectual disabilities in Australia and the United Kingdom, so understands first-hand how to meet the diverse communication needs of people with disability.
Kate Jenkinson – Graphic Designer

Kate Jenkinson is a talented graphic designer with a background in marketing. She currently works with the Information Access Group on a range of projects, including brand identity and logo design, illustration and laying out any number of communications materials such as reports, brochures and newsletters.
As a designer with the Information Access Group, Kate has had the opportunity to design conventional and Easy English layouts, develop custom images and produce accessible brochures for a range of organisations, including the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA), Southern Health and the Centre for Ethnicity and Health.
Naomi Dall – Illustrator

Naomi Dall is a talented Illustrator with a career that spans a range of visual communication mediums, including sign writing and technical illustration. Believing that illustration is a fundamental form of communication, and Naomi has made it her strength to portray ideas and concepts realistically and clearly.
Naomi draws in mediums such as graphite, ink, colour/water colour pencils, water colours, acrylic, pastel, scraper board and oil painting. She also has extensive skills in the Adobe Creative Suite, allowing her to work with illustrations in a digital format.
Anthony Briggs – Technical Director

Anthony Briggs has over ten years commercial experience in IT including web development, programming, system administration and computer support. He is a solid and well-developed programmer in Python, Perl, PHP, Ajax, JavaScript, C/C++ and shell scripting. His development skills are well-rounded and include analysis, design, testing and documentation. He has a thorough knowledge of the software development life-cycle and is well-versed in a variety of programming styles, including imperative/scripting, functional and OOP.
His communication skills in writing, presenting, training, reporting and documentation are excellent. Anthony is the author of a book about Python programming for Manning Publications in the USA, titled Hello! Python.
