The Information Access Group was established to assist organisations meet the diverse literacy needs of the community. Our particular interest lies in helping organisations improve access to their services through enhanced communication.
We can work within your existing communication framework to improve the delivery of information to the community, paying particular attention to the areas of disability, English as a second language, the elderly and adults with low literacy levels.
We work closely with clients to provide the best outcomes in accessibility while also meeting established requirements for corporate identity.

Our team

Lyndall Thomas Editorial Director
Lyndall specialises in assisting organisations to meet the diverse literacy needs of their community.
As the Editorial Director of the Information Access Group, Lyndall has worked with a number of organisations on the development of accessible materials, including the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA), Southern Health and Vision 2020 Australia.
She has extensive editorial and project management experience in communication settings. She has worked for a number of large organisations, such as HarperCollins Publishers and Dental Health Services Victoria.
Lyndall manages a team of consultants, including graphic designers and Easy English and Plain English converters.

Kate Jenkinson Art Director
As Art Director of the Information Access Group, Kate has had the opportunity to design conventional and Easy English layouts, develop custom images and produce accessible brochures for a range of organisations, including the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA), Southern Health and the Centre for Ethnicity and Health.
Kate has a Graduate Diploma of Graphic Design from RMIT. She also has a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Marketing and has worked for several organisations including Forty Winks, Fairfax and Tint-a-Car. Kate brings a professional design approach to all of the communication materials we create.

Sue Driscoll Research Director
Sue specialises in providing communications advice and support to clients in all areas of healthcare: metropolitan and rural hospitals, aged care and disability agencies, mental health support agencies, community health, health partnerships, general practice organisations and disease-specific support groups.
She is a respected and experienced health care communicator who has worked in major metropolitan Melbourne hospitals and Victorian health agencies for more than 20 years researching and producing publications ranging from annual reports, quality of care reports, newsletters, brochures and other publications for staff and community.
Sue has researched, designed and implemented many community participation and engagement strategies as part of a larger issue management approaches or as a component of social marketing and community relations programs.

Angela Colter Website Usability and Accessibility Consultant
Angela Colter has been a usability and accessibility consultant to government, nonprofit and private industry clients for eight years. She has extensive experience conducting both in-person and remote usability studies. More than simply assessing whether people can use a web site, she incorporates testing methods to determine whether the site's target audience can read, understand and act on the information it contains. The audiences that Angela has tested with include young children, blind users, low-vision users and adults with low literacy skills.
She has conducted accessibility reviews using WCAG 2.0 or U.S. Federal Government (Section 508) guidelines for the MCI, the American Library Association, CareerOneStop and Amtrak.
Angela is also a doctoral candidate at the University of Baltimore, researching how to make search engines easier for people who do not read easily.
